1920: The Most Important Year in Baseball History

ID : 839
« back to classes page
In 1920, baseball became the game as we know it: the dead ball departed, the live ball arrived, the spit ball was banned.  Hitting went up; pitching went down.  Gorgeous George swatted them; the Bambino smacked them.  The Red Sox were cursed; the Yankees began a dynasty.  Gambling was banned, the commissioner took power, and eight men were out.  These events, and more, will be reviewed along with their historical impacts.
