This lecture will be a very brief history of human life on the largest conceivable scale. We'll begin with the birth of the universe, 13.7 billion years ago and end in the year 2018 B.C.E. We shall briefly, in turn, evaluate the development of the following scientific disciplines: cosmology, astrophysics, geology, paleontology, climate science, evolution, biology, microbiology and genealogy. We will address the oceans and atmosphere and emphasize the five "episodic great extinctions" of life, and the sixth extinction - the "anthropogenic" which is now in progress. Finally we will contemplate the future of our species.
