Learn and follow the adventures of Dr. Junius F. Lynch, a Surgeon General of the Virginia National Guard who later served with the American Expeditionary Force. Dr. Lynch went to France in 1918 as the division surgeon for the 93rd Division and spent time on the front lines with the 42nd Division. He was commander of Camp Hospital 30 during the Spanish Flu pandemic and the November 11, 1918 Armistice. He completed his time in France as the Chief of Surgical Services, Base Hospital 57, district of Paris, during the 1919 Peace Accords. This lecture will draw heavily from Dr. Lynch's photographs and his unpublished memoir of his service.
