It has been five decades since the tumultuous year of 1968 which contained a cascading series of events that still influence our lives today.  This class will review and evaluate significant events of 1968, such as the Vietnam War, the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy, the Civil Rights Movement, the politics of the 1968 Presidential election, and the race to the moon.  Other interesting occurrences will be featured, including elements of pop culture and the music of the time.  The class will also link events with Virginia and connect with current events.
