To Be a Virginian

ID : 718
« back to classes page
Whether you are a “born-here” or a “come-here,” you’re a Virginian now.  In this age of devolution of power to the states, it is important for citizens to know how the national government helps the states carry out their responsibilities for critical issues like health care, schools, roads, voting rights, criminal justice, and income support.  In November 2018, Virginia will hold elections for the House of Representatives (11 seats) and for one United States Senate seat.  This class will focus on the structure and modern history of Virginia government, the relationship between national and state governments, and the mid-term elections.
