Benedict Arnold: Patriot and Traitor

This course will review Arnold's early life in Connecticut; his capture of Fort Ticonderoga and Crown Point; his trek to Canada and the battles at Quebec; Valcour Island, Ridgefield, Connecticut, Fort Stanwick, and Saratoga.  We will also discuss, his treachery at West Point, his raids in Virginia in 1781 and his attack at New London.  In addition we will cover his military governorship of Philadelphia, his marriage to Peggy Shippen and finally his life after the American Revolution.
