Christian Worship: Origins and Development

Christian worship holds to a creative tension, through the centuries, between tradition and innovation.  This course will explore common origins of worship and the trajectory of Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anabaptist, Anglican/Methodist, Calvinist and particular American contribution to revivals, crusades and mega-church phenomena.  Participants will be urged to attend a church service of another tradition and record and share notes on their impressions.
