Fools and Crazy Men: A Short History of Submarine Warfare

This course will review a century of submarine warfare presented in six sections of about one hour each. These sections include: Early design and development (1650 - 1914), World War I German campaign and the interwar period, World War II Atlantic campaign, World War II Pacific campaign, Post-war and Cold War period, and current employment and possible future trends. The course will focus on doctrine and strategy, delving into tactics and technical details only as necessary and to answer questions.
