World War II in the Middle East and North Africa: The Turning Point

ID : 575
« back to classes page
In the fall of 1940 Britain was teetering on the brink of collapse. The RAF and Royal Navy were barely holding on. The Italians were moving towards Cairo and the vital Suez Canal from Libya and Ethiopia. If Cairo fell, the war in Europe was over and Russia would not survive. Beginning with Operation Compass, the tide began to change. This course will follow the exploits of the British and American forces as they drove the Axis Powers from Africa and the Middle East.
