The Holocaust from a Victim's Perspective

ID : 1554
« back to classes page
Although eight decades in our past, the Holocaust continues to pose difficult and disturbing questions about the human experience. It is ultimately beyond our grasp to understand fully what it was like for those who experienced it, but as human beings concerned about the nature of human experience we should confront the Holocaust and seek its meanings as best we can. This course attempts to do so by examining one dimension of this complex event, the experience of victims, through the reading and discussion of Primo Levi’s iconic narrative, Survival in Auschwitz.
