« back to classes page
An awareness of basic economics will give you an unparalleled ability to understand how the world works. Why do 98 percent of economists oppose rent control? Why do restaurants close in large numbers when the minimum wage is increased by $1? Why do teachers’ unions oppose charter schools? In this course we will explain the laws of supply and demand, showing how they shed light on everyday issues. We will demonstrate the power the "invisible hand" of the marketplace has to lead to far better outcomes than can be obtained by government planning.
