Residential Construction/Renovation Trends: Why You Need a Pro

ID : 1311
« back to classes page
In the past a house was built from historic and familiar materials and systems you could relate to and understand, such as to keep the house dry, sanitary, safe and comfortable. Today, we live in a world of components designed for specific performance goals and costs and to meet ever more stringent minimum building codes and where, how you install a component (as simple as a window) is as important as the component itself. Most people also want a home with components and systems well above the minimum prescribed code. This course provides an overview of how we went from constructing buildings and houses to assembling them like cars, and how to select your home's components and systems to that level of quality and cost that you want, rather than simply meeting the minimum code requirements.
