« back to classes page
The Eastern Front was the largest, bloodiest, and arguably the most important theater of World War II. It is also widely misunderstood. This course will review the causes of the conflict, both sides' strategy and doctrine, tactical innovations, and the course of the war including major successes, blunders, and failures. We will also place this conflict in the wider context of World War II and attempt to assess its impact and importance.
