Understanding Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

PTSD has been in the news often since the Gulf Wars and many people associate it with soldiers; however, approximately 70% of Americans will experience a traumatic event in their lifetime and approximately 8% will develop PTSD. This course will present an overview of PTSD beginning with the history of the disorder and continuing with diagnostic criteria, prevalence, and treatment. Course content will focus on relevance to daily life.
