"FANG" is business-speak for modern-day trillion-dollar companies: Facebook, Apple, Netflex, and Google. From the 16th to the 19th centuries, men made and lost fortunes in L.T.T.S.: lace, tobacco, timber, and silk. This course focuses on lace; from a man’s perspective: who
was allowed to wear it; who sold it; the taxes and tariffs; the smugglers and even pirates who valued lace as much as gold and jewels.
