Drone Strikes and Traditions of Honor in the Military

Traditional conceptions of honorable military service have been tightly linked to physical courage – the courage to go in harm’s way risking death or wounds. Today, however, much military activity occurs at a distance through remotely piloted aircraft (RPAs, or drones). This lecture will examine challenges drones present for traditional accounts of military ethics and military identity.
