ID : 1047
« back to classes page
Ireland has long been recognized as a country that celebrates storytelling and that produces gifted writers.  With a few notable exceptions, e.g., Edna O’Brien celebrated writers have been men.  In recent decades there has been significant social change in Ireland and one result of that change is the emergence of a number of internationally recognized women writers.  This course will focus on two such writers: Anne Enright who won The Man Booker Prize in 2007 and Belinda McKeon whose first novel was recognized as “Irish Book of the Year” and who was a recipient of The Faber Prize in 2011.
